Abstract

Geospatial technologies have become integral to modern city planning, offering tools that enhance spatial analysis, visualization, and decision-making. However, integrating these technologies into urban planning processes presents both significant challenges and promising opportunities. This review paper explores the multifaceted role of geospatial technologies in city planning, identifies key obstacles to their effective implementation, and highlights emerging prospects for improving urban development outcomes. By examining technological, institutional, and societal dimensions, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how geospatial tools can be harnessed to address complex urban challenges.
